2 Peas Sunday Blog

Share your earlies memory from when you first start to scrapbook.....

Originally, I remember working on my Senior Memory book. I bought some really great paper at the local office supply store. Some of it was Debbie Mumm, and I remember it being super expensive and somewhere in my mind knowing that my mom really couldn't afford to buy it, but she did anyway.

Then when I really took scrapbooking on as a hobby, I was 22 and my daughter was 2 weeks old. I had been hording supplies for quite some time at this point, but I hadn't actually started to put things together yet. My first layout that I did was of my daughter the day we came home from the hospital. I am still a bit sketchy on details because I still had morphine pumping through me, but the layout is hideous. Really hideous.

Granted, I will keep it forever because it is my first, and it is about my first precious days with my first baby.

Cards

I've made a few cards during the past day or so. I've been using it as a way to reward myself for staying on task. I do 45 minutes of homework, or housework and I get 15 minutes of crafting or reading. It didn't seem like a lot of time until I got out the scrapping materials and started in on the cards. Cards are a small enough project that I can get a lot done in a small amount of time, so 15 minutes is still rewarding.
The first one is my favorite. It is a note card that is loosely based on Stephenie Meyer's Twilight. It makes me swoon to just think about Edward and his beautiful Vampireness. *Grin* I made it to send to my lovely Amy who lives in Michigan. She and I are Twilight junkies and could probably use an Edward Anonymous meeting about three times a week.

"There was a piece of white paper folded on my seat. I got in and closed the door before I unfolded it. Two words were written in his elegant script.

Be Safe."
The second one, I used my new Autumn Leaves stamps that I finally god. I've wanted the Swirls for probably close to a year. I found them at Wal Mart last week along with Rhonna's scribble alphabet, so I got them both and hid them so my dh doesn't know what I've done.

The third card is just a simple cut and paste with pop dots job, but I find it pleasing to the eye ^_^
